CONCLUSIONS

So, In conclusion, this subject and the creation of this blog has been a great help to increase our knowledge regarding the technology that we use. Making us more aware of this, the whole story behind this and the one that lies ahead. In the future there will be people who will be able to check all the things that have been analyzed in this blog as old technology and so on, and that's fine.

Thank you, so much.

PC/MOBILE OPERATING SYSTEM

Ey readers!

Today we are going te see the operating system into our two devices. An OS is the most important software that a computer has. it manages computer hardware and software resources and provides common services for computer programs. All computer programs, excluding firmware, require an operating system to function.

In the case of computers, there are three OS that are the most famous: Windows, develop by first time by Microsoft in 1985; MacOS, also develop by first time by Apple in 1985; and GNU, the first open source operating system develop by Richard Stallman and other programers in 1983.

In the other hand, nowadays we have three famous OS for the mobile device: Android, a popular mobile operating system based on a modified version of the linux kernel (GNU), the first version was launched to the market in 2007; iOS, the apple's OS develop to be used on a iPhone SDK in 2008; And windows phone, launched by first time in the Mobile World Congress of Barcelona in 2010.

MSI PE70 6QE

This device has the latest version windows, windows 10. It was developed and released by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was officially unveiled in September 2014 following a brief demo at Build 2014. The first version of the operating system entered a public beta testing process in October, leading up to its consumer release on July 29, 2015.

Windows 10 introduces what Microsoft described as "universal apps"; expanding on Metro-style apps, these apps can be designed to run across multiple Microsoft product families with nearly identical code‍—‌including PCstabletssmartphonesembedded systemsXbox OneSurface Hub and Mixed RealityThe Windows user interface was revised to handle transitions between a mouse-oriented interface and a touchscreen-optimized interface based on available input devices‍.
Summary of Windows 10 features:
  • The familiar Start Menu (which had been replaced by Live Tiles in Windows 8) is back.
  • The Metro interface, with its Live Tiles, is accessible from a panel to the right of the Start Menu.
  • Users can toggle between touchscreen and keyboard interfaces on devices that offer both.
  • The OS runs on desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets and embedded devices.
  • The final release is expected to detect touch or keyboard input and seamlessly switch apps from one to the other accordingly.
  • Integrated search makes it possible for users to search all local locations as well as the Web.
  • A virtual desktop feature enables the creation of multiple desktop environments, which the user can switch between through Task View.
  • Containerization capabilities allow administrators to manage and secure applications and data on both user-owned and company-owned devices.
GALAXY S6 EDGE

The mobile phone has the latest versión of android, android 6.0 marshmallow. It's the sixth major version of the Android operating system. First released as a beta build on May 28, 2015, it was officially released on October 5, 2015, with Nexus devices being the first to receive the update.

Marshmallow primarily focuses on improving the overall user experience of its predecessor, Lollipop

It introduced:
  • A new permissions architecture.
  • New APIs for contextual assistants (first used by a new feature "Now on Tap" to provide context-sensitive search results).
  • A new power management system that reduces background activity when a device is not being physically handled.
  • Native support for fingerprint recognition.
  • And USB Type-C connectors, the ability to migrate data and applications to a microSD card, and other internal changes.

CPU: Technical description
Hello Bloggers!
Today we are goin to talk about CPU's, we are going to define the characteristics of our devices and we are going to talk a little about the difference between x64 o x32 feature that is in change nowadays.
Talking about those numbers, 32 and 64, that some people do not kown a thing about, we have to say that this is the length in bits that the system can process in a single "word", these words are basic units of bits that are divided in information and where this info is located inside the memory.

MSI PE70 6QE

This laptop is built in an Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU with 64 bits.
Now we are going to show its features, which we got from the official web page of Intel.

Essentials

Performance

What we can say about his specs is that this processor has got up to 4 cores. Each of them work normally up to 2.6 GHz of speed but can reach up to 3.5 Ghz as a peak speed. It has got a 6 MB caché memory and its buses work with a speed og 8GT/s. And all this powerful and speedster processor is physically determined by elements of 14 nm.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge:

Now we are going to talk about this smartphone's processor: Exynos 7 Octa (7420).

Exynos 7420 is the Industry’s First Application Processor built on 14nm FinFET Low Power Process to bring a new level of sophistication to Mobile Devices.

The new Exynos 7Octa (7420) is equipped with eight powerful processing cores, consisting of four big cores (ARM® Cortex®-A57™ up to 2.1GHz) for intensive workloads and four small cores (ARM Cortex-A53 up to 1.5GHz) for lighter tasks. By fully supporting a 64-bit architecture in both hardware and software, the Exynos 7 Octa brings the enhanced mobile experience such as high-resolution, high-end games, augmented reality, image/video processing, security solutions, face/eye recognition and more.
This features makes this Samsung's processor an excelent solution for mobile devices that is so powerful and works even with 64 bits words, so in general is a good choice.

Image/video in the pc and in the mobile device

Ey readers!

Today in this post we're going to see the image and the video in our devices.

Nowadays it's impossible that devices like this doesn't has monitors, they are the window that connect the user with the machine. And, over time, we have been improving this technology to incredible levels as much as on the screen as on hardware and software. Inside the computer the graphics manager is the graphic or video card that converts binary data into images that are displayed on the computer's monitor. Today the most powerful video card on the market is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

MSI PE70 6QE

This laptop come with a 17.3" full hd (1920x180) built-in monitor pre-calibrated to be compatible with MSI true color technology, and a powerful GeForce GTX 960M.

  • MSI true color technology is a series of procedures/methods applied by MSI on its notebook display to provide users a better visual experience with greater image details. First of all, a special software is used to check every panel’s performance. Each panel will then go through three color correction steps, including color temperature, color visible range and grayscale adjustment. Matrix Display supports 4K output up to 2 external monitors.

  • GeForce GTX 960M is a video card with great gameplay at high settings on 1080p resolutions, packed with inspired graphics technologies, and BatteryBoost for improved battery life you can game longer, unplugged.

GALAXY S6 EDGE

This mobile phone has a 2560 x 1440 pixels display of 5.1" with technology quad HD super AMOLED and Mali-T760, an integrated GPU that with the Exynos 7420 chip that works with a maximum frequency of 2.1GHz and 3GB of ram provides to the user a great visual experience.

  • AMOLED stands for Active Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode. While this may sound complicated it actually isn't. We already encountered the active matrix in TFT LCD technology, and OLED is simply a term for another thin-film display technology. OLED is an organic material that, like the name implies, emits light when a current is passed through it. As opposed to LCD panels, which are back-lit, OLED displays are 'always off' unless the individual pixels are electrified. This means that OLED displays have much purer blacks and consume less energy when black or darker colors are displayed on-screen. However, lighter-colored themes on AMOLED screens use considerably more power than an LCD using the same theme. OLED screens are also more expensive to produce than LCD.

  • About the Mali-T760 I only find that it boosts the Midgard architecture into a new era of energy efficiency. Enhancements to the silicon-proven Midgard architecture ensure that the ARM Mali-T760 is the GPU of choice for all market-leading smartphones, tablets and DTVs. With full support for current and next generation graphics and compute APIs, it boasts stunning graphics and guarantees the excellent execution of compute-intensive tasks such as computational photography, gesture recognition and image stabilization.

SOUND IN DEVICES

Hello Bloggers!
Today we are going to talk about sound in our devices. As long as both are computers, even they are mobile, they have to use a sound card in order to treat sound and some speakers in order to hear it, of course. These cards are used mainly in order to change from analogic to digital sound and viceversa, and can be incorporated in the mother board or they can be installed separately. In the case of the speakers we will talk about some interesting specs.

MSi PE70 6QE:

This high-quality laptop contains 4 speakers and a subwoofer powered by DYNAUDIO, a powerful brand in the sound sector and a software called Nahimic Audio Enhancer that help the user by setting some sound presets for gaming, music, films...

As the sound card is integrated in the mother board and I prefer using an external sound card we will talk about the one that I use.

Line 6 UX1 Specs:
1/4-inch input (adapter required for use with microphone)
Balanced XLR input with mic preamp
Trim knob
Two 1/4-inch line inputs
1/4-inch stereo monitor input
Two 1/4-inch analog outs
1/4-inch headphone out.
USB bus-powered with LED status indicator
Rock Solid ASIO, WDM and Mac® OS X Drivers

This card is a little old but it can provide a good sound treatment for home studio purposes it provide us a bit depth maximum of 24 bits and as sampling frecuency ratio we get until 48 KHz, so this accomplish the standarts in professional music and cinema sound, so is a good component and cheaper than others. To have an external audio card is important so that the CPU is free of sound charge and the system will get a better performance.

About the speakers we can say that this system allows playing 4.1 configuration and as long as it have the subwoofer we will get better fidelity in the low frecuency ranges, we don't have their specs because they are not published in the dealer's web, but we can say that, for being a laptop sound system, it sounds great with a good frequency response and a good power.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge:
In this smartphone we get the next sound devices:
Wolfson WM1840 Audio Codec as sound card.
Maxim MAX98505 as amplificator.

Wolfson WM1840 is a microelectronic processor that i cannot find its specs anywhere, but it does a well sound treatment as we can prove in a experimental way.

Finally, as a conclusion we may say that sound is processed is computers with sound cards and it is played by speakers that can be active or passive (with the need of an external amplification). To choose a good sound card is a priority if you like sound, but you have to know its sampling ratio (Hz) and its bit depth, and for professional audio you must find as a minimum a sampling ratio of 48 KHz and a bit depth of 16 bits.

Thanks for reading and come again for knowing a little bit more about image in computers by the hand of my partner Esteban.
